Course Description
Welding 1 is an introductory class where students can acquire a general knowledge and specific skill
- Students will learn about many of the standard fabrication skills in the industry including: cutting, grinding, shaping, and forming
- Students will learn GMAW welding processes with the opportunity to complete a D9.1 (CS) Sheet Metal certification under AWS
- Students will learn SMAW welding process with the opportunity to complete a D1.1 Structural Steel limited thickness certification under AWS
Students will complete various projects providing them with understanding and skill on a shear, pan break, plate roll, CNC plasma cutting machine, Iron-worker, tube bending system, bead roll, oxy-acetylene cutting machine, as well as many other fabrication machinery
The goal of the Manufacturing and Materials Joining Pathway is to teach a love for the field of manufacturing and fabrication, and to provide students with the skills necessary to find success in their careers
