This class is designed to introduce students to the medium of clay and improve their personal creative process. Our focus is on functional pottery that is very pleasing to the eye.

Sgraffito pinch bowl #2
The students will create a second pinch bowl that is both larger and better constructed using the techniques learned during the first bowl. This bowl will allow the students to refine both their construction and sgraffito skills.

The students will learn how to create a functional bowl using just their hands. They will also decorate the bowls using a sgraffito technique.

Textured slab mug
This project introduces the students to slabs, the slab roller, scoring, slip, making a handle and the process of making a cylinder form using a mold.
