National Collegiate Athletic Association regulates eligibility for college athletes.  To be eligible as a freshman college athlete, students have to complete 16 Core high school courses and register with the eligibility center by their junior year of high school. The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletes is another avenue in which students can become college student athletes also. These two programs hold different requirements, so check out the links below for further information.

If your student plans to play a sport in college, please contact your student's counselor and schedule a meeting to ensure they have gone over the necessary steps, completed the core courses needed, they are eligible, and they are choosing a school that fits the eligibility criteria based on decision of D1/D2/D3 institutions.
