ALL CLEAR: Students in class and will be on normal release

Good Afternoon Students and Parents,

This is Dr. D’Amico your principal with an update regarding a non-emergency school lockdown earlier today.

Following a report of suspicious circumstances, police concluded sounds from a neighboring construction site may have been mistaken for shots, resulting in a 911 call from a concerned party. The lockdown was cleared after a finding of no credible threat.

It is important to know and remember that in a lockdown, we will communicate with parents and guardians when it is safe and appropriate to do so. It is also important to remember to keep our school telephone lines clear for emergency responders during a lockdown. Clogged lines may hinder or delay emergency response. This goes for keeping streets and fire lanes clear during a lockdown, too.

We thank our uniformed police officers for their immediate response and assistance. The safety of our students, staff, and the public is always our first priority.

We hope your holiday weekend is enjoyable, and most of all, safe. We’ll see you in school Tuesday.

Thank you.
